2. How We Use Your Information

3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We share information only as follows:
3.1 Service Providers
We use a small set of third-party service providers to operate the Site and process form submissions. Each provider acts as our service provider or processor under the CCPA and is contractually limited to using the information only as needed to provide their service to us:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, content delivery, edge security, and abuse protection. Cloudflare processes Site traffic and may briefly retain IP addresses and request logs as part of its security services.
- Google LLC (Google Workspace): our business email is hosted on Google Workspace. Form submissions are delivered to info@sammyelectricalservices.com using Google’s Gmail API. Google processes the message contents as part of providing email services.
- Google LLC (Google Sheets): form submissions are logged as rows in a private Google Sheet that only Sammy Electrical Services can access. Google processes the data as part of providing Sheets.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4): aggregate website traffic measurement. We do not provide Google Analytics with personally identifying form field data.
- Google LLC (Google Fonts): web fonts loaded for typography. Google Fonts may collect IP and browser data as part of serving fonts.
3.2 Legal and Safety Disclosures
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sammy Electrical Services, our customers, or the public; or to investigate, prevent, or respond to suspected fraud, security incidents, or abuse.
3.3 Business Transfers
If Sammy Electrical Services is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, reorganization, or bankruptcy, information about you may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor entity will be bound by the commitments in this Privacy Policy or will provide notice and a meaningful choice if material terms change.
3.4 With Your Consent
We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect it, or otherwise with your consent.
4. Data Retention
We retain form submission data, including names, contact details, project notes, and IP addresses, for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, deliver the requested service, fulfill our recordkeeping obligations under California contractor law, comply with tax and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. Typical retention periods are:
- Active leads and customer records: retained for the duration of the customer relationship and for up to seven years afterward for tax, accounting, warranty, and licensing recordkeeping purposes.
- Newsletter subscriber records: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Web analytics data: retained per the Google Analytics retention setting, typically up to 14 months in aggregated form.
- Site security and rate-limit logs: retained for up to 90 days for abuse and fraud prevention.
You may request earlier deletion of your information as described under your rights below, subject to legal retention requirements.
5. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA. We extend these rights to all California residents as a matter of practice, regardless of whether Sammy Electrical Services is required to comply based on size or revenue thresholds.
5.1 Right to Know
You may request that we disclose the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
5.2 Right to Delete
You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions, such as when retention is necessary to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or detect security incidents.
5.3 Right to Correct
You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
5.4 Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing
We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing for you to opt out of in that regard.
5.5 Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under the CCPA in a manner that would trigger this right.
5.6 Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
5.7 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide with information already in our records, such as a phone number or email address used to submit a previous request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with verifiable authorization. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will notify you of the extension within that period.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete the information.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These safeguards include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, restricted access to form submission storage, CSRF protection on form endpoints, IP based rate limiting, and server side input validation. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to us.
8. Third-Party Links
The Site may include links to third-party websites or services, including social media pages on Instagram, Facebook, Yelp, and Nextdoor. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
9. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers transmit Do Not Track signals. There is no industry standard interpretation of these signals. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, but we limit data collection and sharing as described in this Privacy Policy regardless of any such signal.
